Definitely Dubai

Dubai being the layover of our Holy Land / Bible study tour, we thought of flying early and planned a two day itinerary. One to quickly stroll this ultramodern architecture emirates in the middle east and second to visit my older brother who I haven't seen for quite a while.

Day one was hectic but surprisingly a productive one, we took a red eye flight from Emirates, left Singapore Saturday at 1:40am and reached Dubai same day at 4:50am.

Touchdown DXB with these lovely gurls. Open your eyes Grace!
Barely slept, we quickly left our luggages in my older brother's place as our Air BnB accommodation can check us in only by 2pm. We swing to a local cafe for a quick breakfast and off we go to our first stop - Dubai Museum and Al Fahidi Fort which opens at 8:30am.

Find it interesting to start our journey with the oldest existing building in Dubai and see the history, culture and heritage of this country through the antique displays featuring pottery, weapons, tombs, ancient houses, market district, trading and urban communities.

Then we rode their water taxi to take us to the old souk for some actual shopping and walk our way to the gold souk for window shopping. Overall authentic Arab market experience. Who wouldn't love market!

After lunch we were able to check-in to Marina Pinnacle to settle, freshen up and prep for the next activity. We rested for few hours and just before the sunset we went ahead to check Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah beach to catch the mighty Sun.

Final stop is Dubai mall to have a peak at 10-million liter tank and one of the world's largest viewing aquarium panel. We also witness the world's largest choreographed fountain system just beside the tallest structure in the world to-date - Burj Khalifa. We opted to watch the LED light show outside this skyscraper than go to the building viewing deck and save ourselves 125aed/46sgd for level 124 or 350aed/130sgd all the way to level 148.

Thanks to my kuya Gary for driving us through the city and making sure our stay is comfortable and safe. Perks of having a big brother :D Love you to bits!

Dubai will always be one of the favourite places I have visited not only because of its modern architecture, diverse culture and mediterranean cuisine but because I left a portion of my heart there, till we meet again kuya Gary!
